What are the ingredients in Mosquito Amigo?Updated 2 years ago

BugMD Mosquito Amigo is a ready-to-use, household-friendly Mosquito, Flea, & Tick Yard Spray that offers a potent, effective, plant powered solution for outdoor insect control safe to use in yards and outdoor spaces.

About the Formula

The active ingredients in Mosquito Amigo are Lemongrass Oil (2.0%)  and Thyme Oil (0.5%) Inert Ingredients*97.5%

This formula utilizes the natural insect-repelling properties of Lemongrass oil (Cymbopogon citratus) and Thyme oil (Thymus vulgaris) — two essential oils known for their effectiveness against a wide variety of nuisance insects.

Lemongrass oil, is an insect repellent found in nature that has been shown to be effective against mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, and other biting insects. Lemongrass as a plant-derived essential oil is considered biodegradable and its insecticidal properties have been shown to have low toxicity on non-target insects, making it an ideal treatment for spaces frequented by family members, pets, and beneficial insects.

  • As a repellent, Lemongrass oil primarily works by masking the scent of carbon dioxide and lactic acid, which are attractive to mosquitoes and other biting insects. By masking these scents, Lemongrass oil makes it harder for these insects to find and bite their human and animal targets.

Thyme oil, on the other hand, contains compounds such as carvacrol and thymol, which have insecticidal properties and can kill insects on contact. Thyme oil is also known to have antimicrobial properties, which can help prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi in outdoor areas

  • Thyme oil has numerous insecticidal, acaricidal, antimicrobial, and fungicidal properties. It has been shown to be more effective than other popular plant-derived essential oils used to fight bugs.

The combination of Lemongrass oil and Thyme oil in the BugMD Mosquito Amigo Yard Spray creates a powerful insect-repelling and killing solution that is safe for use around kids, pets, and plants
